Microphone Testing Guide

What to Check

  • Input level should peak around 50-75%
  • Waveform should be clear, not fuzzy
  • Background noise should be minimal
  • Speech should sound clear and natural

Optimal Setup

  • • Position mic 6-12 inches from mouth
  • • Speak directly toward the mic
  • • Use pop filter for plosive sounds
  • • Minimize background noise
  • • Avoid touching or bumping mic

Common Issues

No input detected: Check browser permissions, ensure mic is connected and selected
Low volume: Increase system mic gain, move closer to microphone
Distortion: Reduce mic gain, move further from microphone
